About MYUNIVERSE
My UniVerse is basically about a group of university students trudging their way through their individual courses, experiencing life outside of their homes and highschool. The comic is based on a humourous take on university life, and is centred around the interactiosn between the main characters Alex, Rachel, Jess, Kevin, Amy, Sandra, Keith and Sanjay.
The characters featured in this comic are somewhat derived, loose characters of people whom I’ve come to be friends with over my first year at uni, however it’s up to theme to guess who their match is ;).
The idea for creating My UniVerse came to mind in early 2006, after realising the vast amount of creative freedom one could have when writing a comic in a university setting. The theme allowed me to create a comic that has the possibilities to poke fun at a vast array of subjects, be it social, scientific, political or anything, really.
About Me
Hello, I’m Richard Shilling, and I am the creator of this comic. Right now I live with my family, in the northern suburbs of Melbourne, Australia (yes, apparently we *do* have a major city in this country other than Sydney ;-)).
When I’m not studying for my Science degree, I spend most of my time drawing this comic or other works, sitting in front of this crappy box, and from time-to-time going out with friends…money, like many other normal uni students is an issue, so I’m also trying to find new avenues in which to aquire it which doesn’t require me to ask “Do you want fries with that?” at the end of every sentence.
